All Aboard for the Train Weekend at the National Transport & Toy Museum

One of the many Railway Layout

Something special is rolling into the National Transport & Toy Museum this March, and it’s set to delight visitors of all ages.

On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March 2026, the Museum will host its Train & LEGO Weekend – Model Train & LEGO Show, a vibrant exhibition bringing together the world of model railways and the creativity of LEGO under one roof.

A Weekend Where Rail Meets Imagination

For two days only, parts of the Museum will transform into a lively showcase of working model railway layouts and LEGO displays. From detailed miniature rail networks to colourful brick-built creations, there’s something fascinating around every corner.

Model railway enthusiasts will enjoy seeing a wide variety of layouts in action, with trains running, signals changing, and intricate scenes brought to life. Meanwhile, LEGO fans can explore impressive builds and displays, celebrating creativity and design in all shapes and sizes.

More Than Just a Show

The Train & LEGO Weekend is more than a standalone exhibition. Your ticket also includes full access to the National Transport & Toy Museum, home to:

  • Over 600 vehicles covering all modes of transport

  • 23 aircraft

  • More than 100,000 toys and collectibles

  • Heavy machinery and unique displays

It’s a full day out, where visitors can move from miniature railways to full-sized transport history.

A Treat for Collectors and Hobbyists

For those who enjoy the hobby side of railways, the event will also feature a second-hand model railway stall, offering the chance to browse and pick up something special.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just getting started, it’s well worth a look.

Designed for All Ages

One of the highlights of the weekend is how well it caters to everyone.

Children are drawn in by the movement and colour of both trains and LEGO, while adults often find themselves captivated by the detail, craftsmanship, and nostalgia. Families can easily spend hours exploring, discovering something new at every turn.
